Who Likes “Look”?

I’ve noticed a lot of people like to say “Look”, these days....especially when the last thing they really want you to do is, you know... “Look”.

“Look”...we’ve been saying all along, yada yada yada....

“Look”...there’s absolutely nothing inconsistent with the facts...they’re the same as the ones we’ve been making up from the beginning...yada yada yada....

“Look”...I can’t emphasize enough the idea that if I smirk and say “Look” you can’t help but see just how serious I am about wanting you to believe this stuff...yada yada yada....

It’s kind of a thing.

“Look” if you can’t see that then maybe you don’t want to see it.

“Look”... am I wasting my breath, here.

“Look”...It’s all just part of the new way of saying something while you’re really saying nothing.

It kind of makes it seem as if you’re the one who’s got something to hide...not me.

Like you’re just being plain unfair about the whole thing.

“Look...if that’s the way you want to play it, then, please...go right ahead.”

Or wrong ahead.

“Look”...it doesn’t matter to me, which way you go.

Or if you believe me or not.

I really really don’t care...really.

“Look”, I’m just gonna keep prefacing everything I say with “Look”...which shows I’m on the right side of this, and you just refuse to acknowledge it.

Which you should, because how many times can I keep saying “Look”?

A lot...that’s how many times...A LOT!”

“Look”...I have all day.

You can shake your head and roll your eyes all you want...I’m not budging on this.

At least not until lunch is ready.

“Look”...a fella’s gotta eat...right?

You know that, right?

We can agree on that, right?

“Look”...I know you’re thinking I’m just using hunger as an excuse so I can find a way out of this silly circuitous hypothesis but you’d be way off base.

I’ve had peanut butter and jelly on my mind all morning.

“Look”...as I’ve said many many times; it’s a well-known fact...every now and then I need a sugar rush, so the idea I’m trying anything underhanded, is ridiculous.

I’m overhanded, if anything...everybody knows it. Many, many people are saying it.

“Look”, it’s just jelly and peanut butter between some wonder bread...that’s it. 

“Look”...my words speak for themselves.

 “Look”...I’ve said all I’m gonna say on that topic.

Anybody want to share a sandwich...?
